Video Photography Interview: Jim De Koch

For our Video Photography Class, we had to interview someone with an interesting story that we didn’t know personally. One of my former high school teachers knew someone who locally produced a short anti-bullying film called “E.O.B.” E.O.B., which stands for Elizabeth Octavia Baxter, tells the story of that girl who ends up committing suicide as a result of bullying. This is that interview with the film’s writer and director, Jim De Koch.

This was filmed by me with Jim’s DSLR camera and microphone. I edited the interview in Final Cut Pro X.

Select clips of E.O.B. used under Fair Use and is copyrighted to Jim De Koch. Music used by De Wolfe, used under a license through Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

A Brighter Escape – Stronger (Music Video)

One of my side projects is making music under the alias A Brighter Escape (similar to how Adam Young releases music under the alias Owl City).  This is my first music video for the project, and it was also my final project for Video Production and Editing 1.

At the time of writing, you can download the song for free here.  The song, “Stronger”, will be on my upcoming album, Rainbows in the Dark.  For more information about my music, check out abrighterescape.tumblr.com.

Video Production and Editing 1 – Demonstration Video

This is a group project I worked on in one of my Video Production classes.

This video demonstrates on the operation of two different lapel microphones on both professional and consumer grade cameras. I edited this video together in Final Cut Pro X. The person on camera is NOT me, but I also assisted in filming the video.
